If your theme does not have any option to edit or remove WordPress footer credit, then you have to edit the footer.php code.

Simply Go to WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Editor > And open the footer.php file.

Once you are there you have to find the part or section where Footer credit is mentioned. One of the simple ways to find it is Just Press CTRL+F and in the search box enter “Powered” and hit enter.

Once you find the site info Section, You can completely delete them or you can modify them according to your wish.

Remove the “Proudly powered by WordPress” link via CSS

Some sites may tell you to use the CSS method to hide Powered by WordPress credit links.

But we do not recommend this method because doing so will put SEO of your site at Risk. Google does not like hiding links on any website because that technique is used by spammers to hide links from users while still showing it to google for higher ranking.

If you do so, Your site may get Flagged or Penalized by google. That’s why do not use CSS code to remove Footer credit.

Example: CSS code will look something like this.

.site-info{display: none;}
